We never sell or pass on your data to third parties, except when required by law.

You can choose to make your site statistics publicly visible or only accessible to you as a site owner and to the representatives you designate.

Data is transmitted from your site to our servers and between our data centers via encrypted channels. To prevent data loss, we use distributed storage and maintain several fully-functional instances of statistics for a particular site.

We strive to safeguard your data from external threats, and employee access to Yandex.Metrica user data is provided on a strict need-only basis (for example, if required for support service operations).

We prohibit the sending of personally identifiable information (PII) to Yandex.Metrica. PII legislation varies depending on the country. If you are in doubt as to what constitutes PII, please consult your attorney.

We distribute an opt-out extension for the most popular browsers. This extension blocks the storage of cookie files on the website visitor’s computer and restricts data transmission to Yandex.Metrica.

Visitors to your site can also disable the passing of any data to Yandex.Metrica – as well as to other cookie-based analytics systems – by setting their browser to its respective “block all cookies’’ mode.

You can turn off Yandex.Metrica tracking on selected pages. To do so, simply don’t add the Yandex.Metrica code to them.

We do not provide site owners with the full IP addresses of site users. This default setting cannot be overriden.

Our Session replay tool automatically masks content in form fields that may contain confidential data. Site owners can further fine-tune the way Session Replay handles site content to avoid recording data that is not confidential per se, but may still be deemed sensitive. To do so, they can disable recording in all or in some form fields, or record only some fields while leaving out others. The same options are available to manage the recording of any element of a site apart from a form field. Learn more.

We do not show Yandex search queries that brought fewer than 10 users to your site during a chosen date range. This is done to prevent site owners from getting detailed information about a particular user.

On Yandex.Metrica's properties*, we use non-personally identifiable cookie files to track how users engage with our sites and services. This way, we can adjust our editorial content and site design to better address our users’ needs and preferences. Learn more.
